Welcome to the Revere History Museum Hometown RockS Exhibit!

Music accomplishments of Revere youth in the 2nd half of the 20th Century

HomeTown Rocks

This exhibition is a celebration of the vibrant rock music scene made by Revere young musicians, most of whom were born in the post-World War II baby boom generation, as our country rock and rolled. What was the cause of this?

With the 1964 arriyal of The Beatles in the United States and the rest of the British invasion, our Revere youth were influenced by the sophisticated sound and lyrical approach of the new music. This was in response to the current political turbulence and social changes in our country. The result made a major impression upon our Revere teens to pick up a guitar, a pair of drumsticks or a microphone to express their opinions musically.
